“Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.”
Who said it: Mark Twain
American author and humorist, best known for his books The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and its sequel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
Why I like it:
Strangely enough, I like the idea of being average. I'd love to keep my head well below the parapet and avoid any undue attention, but that’s not how my life has been. I’ve always been slightly different: I own a successful business, I'm a woman in tech, I’m a single mum, I have twins… But being in the minority is not about being different for the sake of it. It’s about making decisions and deciding to be who you are, and then sticking with that no matter what everyone else says you should be, or what society dictates you should be.
