Take responsibility

Author: Theodore Roosevelt. Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt, often referred to as TR, was an American statesman, author, explorer, soldier, naturalist, and reformer who served as the 26th President of the United States from 1901 to 1909. Why I like it: I used to drown in my efforts to be perfect at everything, until I ended up convinced I was failing at everything. Now, I’m all about balance and priorities. And I love what I do.

“If you could kick the person in the pants responsible for most of your trouble, you wouldn't sit for a month.”

Author:  Theodore Roosevelt

Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt, often referred to as TR, was an American statesman, author, explorer, soldier, naturalist, and reformer who served as the 26th President of the United States from 1901 to 1909.

Why I like it:

About 14 years ago I read an article about a man who was cleaning leaves out of the gutter of his house.

The ladder slipped and he fell.

He became a paraplegic but he said he takes full responsibility for his actions.

He says that he, and only he, chose to go up the ladder without help or support.

He blames no one.

He has inspired me to this day.

Every ‘mistake’ I make, every misery I cause myself, is my own doing and is my own path.

I have the ability to change it.
