When your customer opts in to receive your emails, they are inviting you into their inbox. This is their personal space. They are, in essence, saying they want to be in a relationship with you. Don’t let them down! Build their trust. Show them you care.

Customers want to feel connected, reassured, valued, inspired and supported in their interactions with brands. Email is a great way to do this.

It’s important to remember that crashing into their inbox and sending content indiscriminately is akin to smashing down their front door with a big stick and shouting at them.

Know who you’re talking to. Remember they are a real person so be respectful, be personal, be real.
